Home Again

It seems like I’ve been gone such a long time, yet it flew by so fast!  Thank you so much for all of your lovely comments and well wishes on my one year blogiversary!  I will answer each of you individually, although it may take me a couple of days.  There is so much to catch up on.  And as I have promised, I will be drawing a name for my fabric giveaway tonight, and posting the winner tomorrow morning!

I thought that I would share a few of the pictures that I took up in British Columbia.  It was a little cool (to those of us in the desert!), but a refreshing change for me.  Of course, it was wonderful to see my parents!  I also found a quilter there, and had an opportunity to talk to her, and take some pictures of her work.  I’ll share those with you later this week.

Several of the pictures that I will be sharing were taken from the plane window.

This is the plane we had to take to get up to Bella Coola, BC, which is up the coast.  It was about an hour and a half trip.

I thought that I would share the inside of the plane with you.  I was in row 5.

And how often can you get a picture of the cockpit?

Ok, here are some of the views……

Well, I’m sure you have an idea of the area.  Tomorrow I will show a few more from the land view!! he,he!!

Thanks so much for taking the time to come and visit.  Stay tuned for the winner of the fabric tomorrow morning!

It’s Been a Year!

As most of you know, I am out of town, actually the state, really the country!  I’m in Canada visiting my parents, then spending some time in Washington visiting my son.  But I still had to take some time to celebrate.  I can hardly believe it, the time has gone so quickly.  August 24th is my one year blogiversary!

I started this blog because  I thought it would be an outlet for me to talk about and share the things that I am working on.  (I also thought it would save my DH from having to hear all of it!) I appreciate all of you that come by to read, and I love hearing all of your comments.  So……..

Trying to get some closer looks for you.  There is 1/2 yd. of each fabric, so 3 yards total.  And these have not been prewashed.  I love these colors!  They are bright and cheerful, and they remind me of all of you!

So, all you have to do is leave me a comment!  And please make sure that you leave me your e-mail address so that I can contact you.  You have until midnight pacific time on Sunday August 30.  I will be home that evening, and I will announce the winner (which will be drawn from a basket) on Tuesday, September 1.  That will give me a little time to get all your names together.

Thank you so much for all of your support over the last year.  It means so much to me, I have met such wonderful and support friends.

Take care, and God Bless!

Time…..

I just can’t believe how much time has gone by.  I’ve neglected my blog, not on purpose, but because there have been so many other things going on, I really haven’t had the time to do any sewing.

I’ll be leaving on Wednesday evening, right after work, to fly up to the Northwest.  I’ll be landing in Portland, Oregon, and my sister will be picking me up and driving up to her house, about an hour north, for the night.  We’ll then hit the road again on Thursday morning and driving up to Vancouver, BC, catching another plane, and flying up to Bella Coola, BC to spend a few days with my parents.

Here are a couple of pictures of the area that I took a few years ago when my husband and I went up to visit.

We’ll be there for four days, and then fly back down to Vancouver, BC.  We’ll then drive to my niece’s house which is  in northern Washington, just outside the Seattle area, and spend the night with her. Then back down to southern Washington to see my son.  My husband will be joining me a couple of days later, and we will be spending a couple of days looking around at some property in the Vancouver and Washougal area.  In all, I’ll be gone for about 10 days.

Unfortunately it is hard for me to get time off very often, so I have to try to get everything in on one visit.  My husband and I are thinking about moving back up to southern Washington, close to the Portland, Oregon area.  I lived in this area before moving here to Arizona 12 years ago, and as I mentioned above, I have family there.  Taking care of the travel arrangements and researching properties and areas for us to visit is how I have been spending most of my time. As well as preparing things around the house for my 10 day absence.

So after this long explanation……here is a picture of the few 9-patch blocks I have finished for the sew along:

Seven more blocks closer. As soon as I return home from this trip, I will be doing a lot more sewing!  My sewing table is just covered, and the only way out is to complete some of these projects!  hehe!

And here is a sneak peak of something to come………shhhhh!!!!
